Welcome to your new parenting support system! I’m Mia Cooley, a Black Queer mom, reproductive justice advocate, and founder of xHood. I specialize in guiding Black and LGBTQIA+ parents through the unique challenges we face, offering tailored coaching that understands and honors our experiences. Whether you’re navigating the journey of trying to conceive, blending families, or fostering a deeper bond with your child, I’m here to help you find your way with confidence, resilience, and joy.
I’ve walked in your shoes and understand the intricacies of parenting in our communities. As a mom of two, I’ve experienced the triumphs and challenges that come with raising Black and LGBTQIA+ children in a world that often overlooks our needs. My journey led me to found xHood, a safe space where Black Queer parents can connect, build community, and find the support they deserve. Through this work, I’ve become deeply passionate about reproductive justice, body autonomy, and creating spaces where our families can thrive.
With years of experience as a community builder, advocate, and coach, I’ve seen firsthand how transformative it can be when parents have access to the right resources and a supportive network. My coaching is rooted in this experience, offering a blend of practical advice, emotional support, and empowering strategies tailored specifically for our communities.
